A holographic fan animates a back wall from 300 to 500 euros per day; a glazed HoloBox stops the aisle at 1,500 to 5,000 euros per event; turnkey packages with 3D content and installation start at 2,000 euros. Book two to four weeks out, brief content at D-60, and standard installs take under two hours.
At IT Partners 2026 in Paris, ASUS did not launch its ExpertBook Ultra with a biggerscreen. It launched it with a hologram, and the aisle slowed down in front ofthe stand.
This guide is the practical version of that result. Holovisio, the company behind hologramme.co, has produced holographic activations for300+ clients in 20+ countries, and what follows is the checklist we run onevery stand: formats, timeline, on-site logistics and budget.
If you still need the case for using a hologram at all,our article on holograms at trade shows makes the benefits argument. This one assumes you areconvinced and shows you how to execute.
The timing is right, too. UFI's January 2026 Global Barometer points to an industry-wide push for more engaging, interactive event formats: the stands that move are the stands that get walkedto.
Everything below applies whether the show is IMEXAmerica, Confex London, NRF Big Show or a 9 m2 regional expo. The physics of anaisle are the same everywhere.
Whichholographic format fits your booth?
Match the device to the job on the stand, not to thebrochure. Four families cover almost every exhibitor brief, and the trade show stands page by Holovisio carries the full catalogue and booking.

Two of these do most of the work in practice. The fanwins on visibility per euro and hangs where floor space is scarce; the HoloBoxfor exhibitions is the aisle-stopper, a glazed case that reads in bright halllight and holds a life-size product or person. For footprints and clearancesformat by format, the HoloBox space guide has the planning numbers.
Theexhibitor timeline, from D-60 to show open
The projects that look effortless on show day were boringfor two months before it. Here is the reverse planning that produces them;dates flex by show, the sequence does not.
• D-60. Reserve the device and brief the 3D content: one heroproduct, one message. The Studio by Holovisio adapts existing 3D files quickly; bespoke animation is what needs therunway.
• D-45. Content in production. Lock the loop length to theaisle's rhythm: 20 to 30 seconds repeats well for a moving crowd, longersequences suit show-called demos.
• D-30. Organiser paperwork: mark the power point on the standplan, request hanging rights if the fan flies, and check heights against the2.44 m back-wall cap most organisers apply to linear booths.
• D-14. Content approval and a timed run-through: the loop, theshow-called sequence if any, and the staff positions around the stopping point.
• D-7. Brief the stand team: who resets the loop, who owns theleads, what the QR code points to, and what the one-line answer is when avisitor asks how it works.
• D-2 to D-1. Installation during build-up: under two hours forstandard configurations, up to two days for large staged stands.
• Show days. Autonomous loop or operated sequences, with the teamchoreographed around the halo rather than behind the counter.
Rental bookings are accepted two to four weeks out, butD-60 is the comfortable runway whenever content is produced from scratch.
Content that works in an aisle
Most underperforming stands fail on content, nothardware. Three rules cover the difference.
• Dark backgrounds, brightsubject. Holographic formats renderlight, not black: content built on deep backgrounds with a luminous subjectreads at distance, while busy bright scenes collapse into noise.
• No fine text. An aisle reads a shape in half a second and a word inthree. One product, one gesture, one short claim; the detail belongs in theconversation the stop creates.
• Cut to the rhythm of walking.A 20 to 30 second loop catches a movingcrowd repeatedly; save the long-form sequence for show-called demos with agathered audience.
Logisticson the ground: power, height, access
Electrically, standard formats run plug and play on anordinary outlet: order one power point on the stand plan and you are covered. No three-phase supply, no dedicated cooling in normal hall conditions.
Height is the constraint to read early. Standard linearbooths commonly measure 3.05 by 3.05 metres with a 2.44 m back-wall cap, whichevery enclosed format clears; island stands open the ceiling but bring riggingpaperwork and the organiser's flying window for suspended fan arrays. Halllighting is the other read: glazed formats hold their image under bright rigs, while open fans reward positions with a darker backdrop behind them.
Access matters for the life-size formats: check freightroutes and door heights during build-up planning. And 3D hologram rental for exhibitions runsturnkey, with delivery to the hall, installation by a technician, stafftraining and teardown at close included.
What atrade show hologram costs
The 2026 brackets: a holographic fan rents for 300 to 500euros per day; a HoloBox runs 1,500 to 5,000 euros per event; a holographicwall sits between 3,000 and 12,000 euros; and turnkey packages, hardware, adapted 3D content, delivery and installation included, start at 2,000 euroswith a quote returned within 48 hours.
Content is the real variable. Adapting existing 3D assetscosts little; a bespoke product animation typically runs 1,500 to 5,000 eurosand a complex photorealistic scene 5,000 to 20,000 euros, and the files areyours to reuse show after show. The full grid, purchase brackets included, isin our hologram cost guide.
The rent-or-buy logic follows frequency: one or two showsa year favours rental, and from three to four uses a year the purchasearithmetic takes over, precisely because the content travels with you. Budgetseparately for show-called operation, which adds technician days when thehologram anchors live demos rather than running as a loop.
The ASUSplaybook at IT Partners 2026
The activation worked because it was disciplined, notbecause it was loud. One hero product, the ExpertBook Ultra; one holographicfocal point instead of four screens fighting for attention; a short loop tunedto the aisle; and staff standing at the halo, where the stopped visitorsactually were.
That is the replicable version for any exhibitor: oneproduct, one message, a loop under 30 seconds, and the team positioned wherethe device creates the conversation. Held against a comparable show, thatdiscipline is what turns the observed benchmarks, up to 50 percent moreinteraction time among them (figures vary by context), into your own post-shownumbers.
The complete guide to holograms maps every devicefamily in more depth, and the benefits case lives in our holograms at tradeshows article. Between the two, this checklist is the part you print.
